LATROBE, PA – The onset of autumn and winter brings a lot of visible changes, such as leaves turning color and snow piling up on the ground. Things look different in the sky, too.

Stargazers can explore the shifting view of the heavens by taking in “Winter Sky,” a planetarium show on Nov. 2 at the Angelo J. Taiani Planetarium in the Sis and Herman Dupré Science Pavilion on the Saint Vincent College campus. Showtimes are 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.

Also, the “Star of Bethlehem” planetarium shows will be held at the Taiani Planetarium at 1 p.m. Nov. 30 and 4:30 p.m. Dec. 14.

All shows are free and open to the public, but seating is limited, and registration is required. For reservations, contact Erin Black at 724-805-2631 or erin.black@stvincent.edu.

“Guests will explore the winter sky, revealing the stars, planets and other celestial objects that will be seen in the upcoming months,” said Dr. Daniel Vanden Berk, associate professor of physics in the Herbert W. Boyer School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Computing. “We will also take a look at the northern lights and other effects that our active sun has on the Earth.”
