State trooper Trey Parsley, C’14, to speak at annual Blue Mass at Saint Vincent Archabbey Basilica

LATROBE, PA – Trey Q. Parsley, C’14, a corporal with the Pennsylvania State Police, will be the speaker at the annual Blue Mass at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 3 in the Saint Vincent Archabbey Basilica.

The Blue Mass honors police officers, firefighters and emergency medical service personnel. Local first responders are invited to attend the Mass in uniform. The Mass will be concelebrated by Fr. Richard Ulam, O.S.B., S’80, pastor of the Basilica parish, and Fr. Joseph Adams, O.S.B., C’01, S’09, subprior of the monastic community of Saint Vincent Archabbey.

A native of Greensburg, Parsley graduated with high honors from Saint Vincent, earning a bachelor’s degree in criminology, law and society. He graduated from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy in June 2016 and was assigned to the Troop B, Uniontown Station patrol unit. During his first year of service, he earned a commendation for saving the life of a 17-year-old girl following a vehicle accident.

In July 2021, Parsley became a negotiator on the Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) for the State Police Bureau of Emergency Services. After being promoted to corporal, he transferred to Troop A, Kiski Valley Station as a patrol unit supervisor in addition to his negotiator role on the SERT.

Parsley met his wife, Paige, C’13, G’18, while they were students at Saint Vincent College. They live in North Huntingdon and have two children, Will and Dane. Paige Parsley is an instructor in the Alex G. McKenna School of Business, Economics and Government at Saint Vincent.
