“We are pleased to offer this unique opportunity for local theatregoers,” said Jeff Mallory, C’06, G’13, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Saint Vincent College. “Events such as this will form a stronger bond between the College and the community—creating a more integrated, supportive and collaborative environment for students, residents and local businesses. We look forward to what will be a memorable night out for everyone.”

Mallory is chairman of the Be My Neighbor Committee, a group of local leaders who are working to revitalize the region and strengthen ties between the College and the Latrobe community.

About the Be My Neighbor Committee

Backed by a grant from the Richard King Mellon Foundation, the committee is comprised of officials from Saint Vincent College, the city of Latrobe, the Greater Latrobe School District, Independence Health, the Latrobe Community Revitalization Program and the Latrobe Foundation. Representatives from the Greater Latrobe-Laurel Valley Chamber of Commerce and other business owners and professionals also are involved.

The committee’s priorities include connecting downtown Latrobe with Legion-Keener Park, creating a public GIS map of outdoor recreation areas within the city, rehabbing houses and increasing owner-occupied homes, and boosting business assistance and economic development.
