Professional Pilot Advanced Piloting

Designed for new students without existing flight hours, this specialization will prepare you for commercial roles such as sightseeing tours, flight instruction, and charter flights.

Designed for students that already have some flight experience, this specialization offers an expedited path to completing your degree while opening new career possibilities.

What Can I Do With an Aviation Management Degree?

Students who study aviation management at Saint Vincent will earn their professional pilot’s license. But the benefits of a bachelor’s degree in aviation stretch far beyond taking to the air:

  • The business background gained will help students to work in administrative and leadership roles within the airline industry before, while, or after working as a pilot.
  • A bachelor’s degree lowers the minimum licensing age for a pilot’s license from 23 to 21, while also reducing required flight hours from 1,500 to 1,250.

In addition to working as flight instructors and flying charter flights, graduates can embrace and move into managerial roles for airlines, airports, suppliers, and more. The deeper knowledge and ethics learned through Saint Vincent College’s unique College Core based on the liberal arts will help students throughout their lives and careers.

  • 50% projected decrease in professional pilots due to retirement in the next 15 years
  • $127,000 average earnings for commercial pilots according to Glassdoor
  • 99% of graduates in the McKenna School of Business, Economics and Government majors are employed or furthering their education within one year of graduation
